Why Main Street Program Works:

Main Street uses a Four Step Process which helps to bring about dramatic, positive change by encouraging economic development within the context of historic preservation and by creating a positive, distinctive image of New Port Richey.

The Main Street Four Step Process includes key teams:

1.ORGANIZATION: (or Membership) Work with public and private sector community leaders to develop consensus and coordinate resources to revitalize Downtown.
2.PROMOTION: Create and market a positive image of Downtown through special events, retail sales, effective advertising and public relations campaigns.
3.DESIGN: Encourage quality building rehabilitation, signage, public improvements and window displays to improve appearance of Downtown.
4.ECONOMIC RESTRUCTURING: Improve the economic base of Downtown by strengthening existing businesses, recruiting new businesses, filling vacancies and maximizing second floor locations.

Accomplishments of GNPRMS program:
•Successful creation and execution of numerous Award Winning special events throughout the year that attract a wide variety of audiences both within and from outside the immediate area.
•Persue & obtain high profile PR for the City of New Port Richey.
•Provide multiple high visibility marketing opportunities for local businesses through event sponsorship.
•Offers an historical walking & boat tour.
•The creation of the downtown Mural/ Paint Scapes program.
•Incubated a not for profit community Art Gallery in the downtown.
•The creation of a cohesive Business Owners Association.
•Hosts monthly Lunch & Learn luncheon to bring timely and important information to the membership.
•Business placement & business assistance resources.
•Developed and maintains downtown Planter Project.
•Launched Fresh Market that takes place each month on the first Friday.
•Developed and produced Historic Walking Tour Map.
•Developed and produced Downtown Business Directory.
