Inshore - Saltwater sight fishing the shallow grass flats and sand holes of Mosquito Lagoon and Indian River Lagoon useing light tackle rods and reels. Stalking Trophy size Redfish, sight casting Black drum, Topwater Spotted Sea Trout, Flounder and seasonal Tarpon, Ladyfish and Jack Crevalle.

Near shore - Saltwater fishing Daytona Beach and New Smyrna Beach and around the Ponce Inlet jetties. Targeting seasonal Tarpon, Snook, Cobia, Sharks, Jack Crevalle, Flounder, Sheep head, Mangrove Snapper, Redfish, Black Drum, Sea Trout, Permit, Barracuda, Mackerel, Bonita and Kingfish.

Offshore - Deep sea bottom fishing and offshore trolling. Targeting
Amberjack, Barracuda, Cobia, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Grouper, Mackerel, Bonita, Kingfish, Black Sea Bass, Trigger Fish, Sailfish, Shark, Snapper, Tuna, and Wahoo.

Captain Randy Kraft is a United States Coast Guard licensed Captain chartering full time. Fully licensed and insured. No fishing license required. All bait and tackle, high quality rods and reels, fishing license, safety equipment included while onboard.

On your way through Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge to one of the many boat ramps that the Captain launches his boat from you may see deer, bobcats, wild hogs, turkey, raccoons, armadillo and gopher turtles. While onboard the fishing vessel you may see bottlenose dolphin, manatee, blue crabs, horseshoe crabs, sting rays, jelly fish, sea turtles, manarays and alligators. In addition, Florida Central East Coast is home to an assortment of birds ranging from bald eagles and osprey to pelicans, ibis, spoonbills, egrets, herons, storks and more.

General Information

The Indian River Lagoon is a grouping of three lagoons: Mosquito Lagoon, Banana River, and the Indian River, on the Atlantic Coast of Florida. It was originally named Rio de Ais after the Ais Indian tribe, who lived along the east coast of Florida.

Course

Its full length is 156 miles (251
km), extending from Ponce de León Inlet in Volusia County, Florida, to Jupiter Inlet in Palm Beach County, Florida, and includes Cape Canaveral. Lake Okeechobee is connected to the lagoon by the Okeechobee Waterway and the St. Lucie River meeting in Sewall's Point.

Portions of the Lagoon, from north to south:
Mosquito Lagoon, from Ponce de Leon Inlet to the north end of Merritt Island, connected to Indian River by Haulover Canal.
Indian River, the main body of water, from the north border between Volusia and Brevard Counties along the western shore of Merritt Island, southward to St. Lucie Inlet.
Banana River, an offshoot of the Indian River, northward making up the eastern shore of Merritt Island.
Eau Gallie River
St. Sebastian River
Hobe Sound, the portion of the lagoon from St. Lucie Inlet to Jupiter Inlet.
