About Our Pizza By The Slice:

The first New York pizzeria in America was founded by Gennaro Lombardi in Little Italy, Manhattan in 1905. An immigrant from Naples. He opened a grocery store in 1897 in which eight years later was licensed to sell pizza by the state ofNew York State. They began making pizza, which sold for five cents a pie. Many people however, could not afford a whole pie and instead would offer what they could in return for a corresponding sized slice of pizza.

Similar we at New York Pizza opened in 1991 in Pleasanton. We came to Downtown Pleasanton Main street, rented an old historic building, originally an ice cream shop. We added Pizza to the ice cream shop and started selling quality pizza to the students of Amador Valley High School. Our Philosophy was to sell great healthy pizza slices to high school kids for 99 cents. The school students lined up on their lunch hour to get their affordable tasty slice of pizza. Then they brought in their parents to try our awesomely made pizzas, there after the small ice cream shop turned into their favorite pizza shop now First Bite New York Pizza Pleasanton located at 690 Main Street Downtown Pleasanton Ca 94566. Every one loved our food and ice cream. We became the most popular pizza in Pleasanton as well as attracting people from the surrounding cities. Today New York Pizza has customers from all over the Tri Valley area (Pleasanton, Dublin, San Ramon, Danville, Livermore) and those who live far out in other States will come visit us time to time.Today our slice of pizza start from $3.75 instead of 99 cents, which is due to keeping up with the economical proportionate system, which changed numbers for all of us in the past 2.5 decades. Our rent was only $800 per month in 1992as when we started, but the proportionate economy has pushed us to pay over $9000 per month rent in 2014.


Good Citizens Of America:

In 2010, the owners of New York Pizza served their country by joining the United States Army in Afghanistan. Their mission lasted 4 years while their pizza shop still operated in Pleasanton. Today the pictures of the war hang in their pizza shop, including the achievement certificates from the Government of America and the Army. Memories of war have become the decoration on the walls of New York Pizza Pleasanton where everyone is welcome to glance through the journey.Today the citizens of Pleasanton have greatly appreciated the accomplishments they have achieved from the Government of the United States of America.
