Co-owner - Jay Wolfson, (a long time restaurateur) was sitting out on the dock at his family’s boat-house in beautiful Kilmarnock, Virginia taking in the breathtaking scenery, sipping an ice cold beer and enjoying a delicious burger that had been cooked on the grill. It was a great feeling and something Jay just knew he needed to share with others. Jay called his cousin Steven Sponder (also a long time restaurateur) and said “Let’s open a seriously great Burger and Craft Beer restaurant here in Virginia. We’ll be fanatic about quality, cook the Burgers over a real wood grill and provide people with a great experience. And let’s name it after this beautiful Northern Neck region of Virginia.” That’s the moment the idea for the Northern Neck (NN) Burger Co. was born. Jay and Steven put their best ideas together and opened the 1st “NN Burger” to a very appreciative crowd, and the rest is history.
