Noah's Ark Children's Center

Noah's Ark Children's Center offers childcare to families of Eureka and the surrounding area. This center is licensed by Illinois Department of Children and Family Services to care for eighty-four children ranging from six weeks of age to twelve years of age. The childcare center employees eleven people. Our staff range from employees that are members of the community, and recent Eureka College graduates. At the present time we are working in cooperation with Head Start of Tazwell and Woodford Counties. They are using one of our classrooms for their Head Start Program.

One hundred percent of the funds Noah's Ark Children's Center receive from United Way will be used to care for local children, to put on programs with the residents of Maple Lawn, and to purchase products and services from local vendors.

Noah's Ark children's Center is one of the first intergenerational child care programs in the nation. The focus for this program is to have interaction between youth and seniors of our community. There is a weekly program geared for the children of Noah's Ark Children's Center and the senior residents of Maple Lawn to work together on a themed activity. Some children visit specific residents on a regular basis to share books and stories. The children walk throughout the grounds of Maple Lawn, as well as the Health Center regularly to share smiles with the residents. All of Noah's Ark staff, children, and families have the opportunity to not only share new traditions, but also learn the importance of what the residents can help us.

Noah's Ark Children's Center offers quality day care service to working parents. Also offered are three individual Preschool Programs, which are designed to meet the needs of all families. Before and After School care is also available.
