The Norristown Preservation Society is working to restore historic Selma Mansion in Norristown, PA, built in 1794 by General Andrew Porter (PA Surveyor General). His sons were PA Governor David Rittenhouse Porter, Secretary of War James Madison Porter and Michigan Territory Governor George Bryan Porter. General Porter was also great-grandfather to Mary Todd Lincoln.

Other residents of the home: The Andrew Knox family, son Thomas P. Knox, State Senator and Pennsylvania State Agricultual Society president, his wife Sarah Leedom Knox and their family.
