The East Campus has 17 classrooms equipped with computers, overhead projectors, and other learning technologies. Investigation courses are taught in a state-of-the-art CSI laboratory. A 23,000-volume library supports student and staff research, with popular books and movies available for off hours. The audio-visual center has over 2,500 training films on a multitude of topics. For overnight stay, the campus has nearly 300 dormitory rooms, many with cable TV and Internet access. Students and staff alike work out in a gymnasium with a basketball court, walking track, and weight room. The cafeteria serves buffet-style meals three times a day.
Opened in 1998, the Larry T. Justus Western Justice Academy, also known as the West Campus, serves the criminal justice community in western North Carolina. The campus has 9 computer-equipped classrooms. Other features include a cafeteria, 72-bed dormitory, basketball court, weight room, 1/4-mile walking track, and game room. The newest campus feature is the indoor firing range, set to open in July 2011. With lanes 50 yards long and 4 feet wide, the range has areas for pistol, shotgun, and rifle training.
