More about Northern Boater

~ Open Monday through Saturday, and by appointmen">~ Northern Boater ~

Many of us love the water. Some of us were fortunate enough to grow up “messing about in boats”.

Aahhh… the life of a “nautical picker”… Cruising the shorelines of the Great Lakes, and beyond, to bring back the early days of life on the water. Northern Boater was opened to rescue these treasures from the past, so you may connect with our Water Wonderland.

Whether an Antique Collector, Designer/Decorator, or just an all-around Boat and Water Enthusiast, you’re invited to connect with Northern Boater in a few ways. To experience all of the items available to you in person, cruise on over to see Northern Boater at The Gallery in Cedar. The Village of Cedar is on the Leelanau Peninsula, just 12 miles Northwest of Traverse City, Michigan. The vast majority of merchandise is here at the shop. Or, you may browse through our online shop at NorthernBoater.etsy.com. Here, you can check out the Nautical Charts, and a smaller variety of other nautical items.

Of course, Northern Boater has this facebook page for you to follow, too!

Here is a list of Nautical Antiques & Collectibles you may expect to see at Northern Boater…

~ Nautical Charts, from the Oceanographic Office of The Department of The Navy.
~ Model Boats and Ships
~ Anchors and Chain
~ Lanterns and Lights
~ Compasses
~ Bronze Bells, Books, and Buoys
~ Local Maritime Pieces of History
~ Bronze Propellers and Portholes
~ Early period Water Skis

Northern Boater is inspired by early classic wooden and early fiberglass boats, too. You will often see these boats in front of the shop (and often for sale!).

Cruise in to Northern Boater. Take a treasure home with you, or give it as a gift to a member of your “crew”. Keep the Nautical Past Times alive!

Thanks for visiting!
