More about Northwest Alano Club of Tucson

We are a non-profit organization that is operated for the sole purpose of helping people who are recovering from alcoholism, drug addiction, and/or co-dependency. The NW Alano Club helps many hundreds, or more likely thousands (as membership lists are not maintained in anonymous 12 step groups) of people in the area stay clean and sober and hopefully become responsible members of society. There are 4 meeting rooms and 2 lounges where people can sit and relax while they are learning to cope with their disease(s). The people who come to the Club can attend meetings, meet other people who are already recovering, find a sponsor (mentor) who can guide them through the 12 steps, and learn how to recover from a seemingly hopeless state. This process is not done by people who have studied about alcohol and drug dependency, but by from people who have suffered from the same problems and recovered. This is not therapy but people who share their actual experience, strength and hope.

Our club welcomes all recovery groups and many utilize the club on a daily basis. We also offer sober activities such as: karaoke, barbecues, luaus, Halloween parties, fellowship breakfasts, potlucks, meals catered by members and other fellowship events. Our club is currently composed of less than 100 actual members and we do not require membership in the club to participate in any of these events. We just ask that the participants be clean and sober. We operate on a shoe string budget and welcome new members.
