Arkansas Support Network’s (ASN) Family Support Program received a federal grant to fund the Northwest Arkansas Community Parent Resource Center (CPRC)—the first in the state—and serve families of children with disabilities ages birth through 26. It will serve four counties, Benton, Carroll, Madison, and Washington. The CPRC, while advocating for children in special education, will specifically emphasize training and information for immigrant families, foster families, parents who are working to reunite with their children, and finally the young people in the juvenile justice system as well as their parents (if involved). In addition, the CPRC will target professionals working with these three groups.
We are training parent mentors to work with parents new to the system and we are updating our resource library with lots of new materials that can be borrowed at no charge. We would love to hear from you! For more information, contact us at cprc@supports.org or call (479)927-4100. To learn more about ASN visit www.supports.org
