It is the mission of the Nowata County Sheriff’s Department to provide professional, high quality and effective police, correctional and court security services in partnership with the community. We, the members of the Nowata County Sheriff’s Department, believe that our work has a vital impact on the quality of life in our community. To demonstrate our commitment to our profession, on and off duty, we subscribe to the following values;

Description
The Nowata County Sheriff's Office exists to serve the citizens of Nowata County, Oklahoma and to protect the lives, property and rights of all persons.
General Information
The Nowata County Sheriff's Office is under the direction of Sheriff Jim Hallett and operates a county jail, a patrol division, investigative division, a communications center, an administrative division and provides court services for the Nowata County Courthouse. All deputies serving the people of Nowata County are sworn peace officers and attend the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (C.L.E.E.T.) Law Enforcement Academy.
