Since 1959, the Census Bureau Welfare and Recreation Association (CBWRA) has offered its members an opportunity to participate in a variety of social and recreational activities through its sponsorship of children's activities Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween party and Christmas party), team sports (bowling and softball), and group trips to destinations in the area. During the past years, the CWBRA has sponsored special events to raise funds for the Crusade for Children, March of Dimes, local and national charities, groups and Christmas gifts for area nursing homes. The CBWRA also promotes the welfare of its members and the local community by sponsoring food drives at Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as providing collection points for drives for items to support disaster relief efforts.
