Oak Glen Preserve is one of 15 nature preserves owned and stewarded by The Wildlands Conservancy. The preserve is open to the public free of charge for passive recreation, including hiking, wildlife viewing, and picnicking.
Historic Los Rios Rancho, the largest continuously operating apple ranch in Oak Glen, was saved from development by The Wildlands Conservancy (TWC) in 1996. The orchards, restaurant and shop are leased to a family of 4th generation apple growers; the Preserve's trails, picnic areas and gardens are maintained by TWC, a donor-supported 501(c)(3) public benefit organization.
