More about Oak Hill Bible Church

Oak Hill is . . .

. . . An intergenerational community of faith centered on Jesus Christ. People come from a variety of backgrounds and live throughout the greater Southern Worcester County or Northeastern Connecticut area.

. . . A genuinely warm and welcoming family committed to loving each other with the love of Christ and showing that love to the world around us. People don't just say they care; they demonstrate the compassion and concern of Jesus toward others.

. . .A place where people can become more like Jesus. Everyone at Oak Hill is at a different place in their faith-walk, but all find this a spiritual home where they are encouraged, can find healing, and are challenged to grow closer to Jesus and become more like him.

Sunday Mornings:

Every Sunday morning we gather together as a faith community to glorify our God and celebrate what he has done for us through Jesus Christ. We meet at 9:30 am. During the service we greet one another, and sing songs of praise, led by our praise team consisting of singers and musicians. One of our elders leads in prayer, and people can write down their prayer requests or have someone pray for them if they desire. We hear about opportunities for ministry involvement, and take an offering so the church family can joyfully give to the Lord what they have determined (our church budget is supported by the tithes and offerings of our community members – visitors are not expected to give). Then our pastor preaches a message from God’s Word, the Bible. The service usually ends around 10:45. One Sunday per month (usually the first Sunday) we celebrate Communion in remembrance of Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross.

The atmosphere is lively but respectful: we know that we are called to worship the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The dress is casual but appropriate: we desire to do all things to the glory of God.
