Oak Mountain Stables - Page

Oak Mountain Stables is located inside Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, AL. We are open year round (weather permitting) on Wednesday through Sunday. The first ride can go out as early as 9 am and the last ride goes out at 4 pm. These hours change depending on the season. Please call 205-620-3575 to make advanced reservations for the below services.

Trail Rides:

We offer guided, trail rides for public riders. We have a 45 minute ride that is $35 per person with two versions. The first version is perfect for beginners. The trail has a few small hills and goes around part of the park's golf course. The other version of the 45 minute ride has more hills and is perfect for those who have more experience riding.

We also have a 90 minute ride that is $60 per person. This trail has everything that an avid outdoors person could want: beautiful scenery, wildlife, perfect view of the lake, and more time riding your horse.

Requirements for the trail rides:

The minimum age to ride is 8 years old. The max weight for riders is 250 lbs. Reservations must be made a few days in advance of the day you are wanting to ride.

Pony Rides:

Does your little cowboy or cowgirl not meet the min age requirement? No problem! We offer "pony" rides for the little ones. $10 per child. Bring your cameras because this is definitely a crowd pleaser. Walk-ups are welcome on the weekends. Please call one day in advance for weekday rides.

Boarding:

Have your own horse and need a place to call home? We offer boarding services that include stall or pasture boarding, feeding, cleaning of stalls, 24/7 access to horse, and access to over 18 miles of trails. If interested, please contact us by phone for rates.

Overnight Boarding:

Your horse has a home but no where to roam? Well reserve a stall at our stables for overnight boarding. You trailer them in, use the public horse trails, then board them overnight at our stables. We will need a minimum of a week's notice in order to have the stalls ready for your arrival. Contact us at our main number for rates.

Birthday Parties:

We offer birthday parties for that little one who loves horses. Rent our horses by the hour and have everyone at the birthday party get a "pony" ride. We will set up picnic tables by our small arena so that guests can have a ring side view of the fun. Call for rates.

Sales:

We are always in the market for horses and equipment. If you are looking to buy, sell, or donate...give us a call. :)
