Oakdale Cemetery

Oakdale was part of the Rural Cemetery Movement that swept the US in the mid-Nineteenth Century making it the oldest rural cemetery in North Carolina. Oakdale is an active cemetery located in Historic Downtown Wilmington and is still conducting burials and selling plots.

Oakdale Cemetery contains the graves of the movers and shakers of Wilmington, NC. Graves represent veterans from all wars and all branches of service, politicians, mayors, congressmen, and other notable historic figures.
