The Strome Entrepreneurial Center is a key part of Old Dominion’s efforts to create an entrepreneurial culture. It exists to educate students on entrepreneurship as a viable career path and cultivate students as up-and-coming business leaders. We provided free consulting, magnificent guest speaks on Tuesdays and Thursdays during activity hour (12:30 - 1:30), and much more. Our workshops and events are hands-on and personal, where many of the students get to engage with our speakers that come in and create amazing networking skills.
The Center encourages and enables all members of the university community to start new ventures-whether for profit or not for profit. Social entrepreneurs are welcome here.
The Center is an educational resource powered by Venture advisers and Community partners. We present regular programming-workshops, seminars, and networking events along with individual advising in conjunction with industry and functional area Community experts to help students along the process of planning their venture.
The potential for collaboration is a key aspect of the Center. We find that many, if not most, entrepreneurs need a Team approach. The Center facilitates the process for you to identify needs and select collaborators. The Center space is set up to enable teams to meet and work on their business ideas.
The Strome Entrepreneurial Center is open to all students across the campus, all Colleges. We welcome any student with an idea or concept that seeks assistance or guidance. We encourage students with variant majors to explore entrepreneurial activities and learning
If you have a business idea, the center staff will help you along the path of thinking and decisions to flesh out the idea and help you decide if it is a viable business model. This is a terrific time to find out if Entrepreneurship is the right career choice for you.
