Old Cypress Canoe Rentals

Old Cypress Canoe Rentals offers a variety of trips to suit every need. We offer canoe and kayak trips down beautiful, Holmes Creek and the Choctawhatchee River from 2 hours to overnight trips for those who enjoy primitive camping.

Customers will park and pay at Old Cypress Canoe Rentals office which is located at 2728 Traverse Dr. in Vernon, Florida. We will shuttle customers from our property to a boat landing located a few miles upstream. From there, customers will paddle the emerald, green waters of Holmes Creek, stopping along the way to explore the deep, blue waters of Cypress Springs. One can spend all day, or just a few hours relaxing at Cypress Springs before continuing their journey back to our canoe launch to return the canoes and kayaks, retrieve their vehicles, and visit our gift shop. Customers interested in Choctawhatchee River trips will be shuttled to a public boat landing on Holmes Creek and will paddle downstream, stopping along the way for a dip in Spring Run. The Choctawhatchee trip is a full day adventure and is better suited to the more experienced paddler.

Overnight trips are available by reservation, only. There are a number of primitive camp sites along the Holmes Creek Canoe Trail that are available to the public. A creek map highlighting campsites will be provided.
