Water and Sewer
Water Division
The Water Division operates and maintains eight Water Treatment Plants that produces 4,396,781 gallons of safe potable water per day and a Distribution System that serves 15,905 customers on a daily basis.

Sewer Division
The Sewer Division also maintains the Sewer Collection System in the City of Olive Branch, which serves 13,396 customers.

•Maintaining 78 Sewer Pump Stations located throughout the City.
•Cameraing of sewer lines to locate and identify problems.
•Repairing and cleaning main sewer lines.
•Installing new sewer service where needed.

Natural Gas
The Natural Gas Divisions serves customers in Olive Branch, Eastern Desoto County, and Western Marshall County.

Mission
The mission of the Gas Division is to provide uninterrupted natural gas service safely and efficiently, to serve our customers in a courteous and timely manner, and to excel in the pursuit of a safe environment for the citizens of Olive Branch.

Residential and commercial natural gas.

Streets and Sanitation
The Street and Sanitation Division, under the direction of Superintendent Willie Brown, includes a team of 18 employees who repair streets, sidewalks, and drainage structures, clean catch basins and streams of debris, pickup leaves, limbs, brush, yard waste, bulky trash, and appliances at curbside. This Department also maintains street right-of-ways and other City property, and a myriad of other jobs not covered within other City departments.

Services Provided
Recycling Program
A Contractor, BFI, picks up recyclables on the same day as your household garbage. The City provides a special blue bin to be placed curbside for your convenience. A complete list of recyclable items is presented below. Just place the blue bin curbside the same time as your household garbage cart.

Materials to be collected:

•Pet plastic #1 and HDPE #2 plastic
•Brown, green, and clear glass
•Aluminum cans
•Newsprint (including supplements), junk mail, and magazines
•Cardboard (up to 2-foot by 4-foot pieces)
Appliance Collection

The City provides curbside pickup of appliances on Fridays only. You must call Public Works @ 662-893-5209 in advance and notify us to pick up your appliances. Appliances must be curbside by 7:00AM.


Leaf Collection
The City provides curbside pickup of loose leaves from the first of November through the end of March. Leaves should be placed in the yard next to curb or street. Bagged leaves are picked up year round. Leaves should be separated from other debris.

Limbs and Heavy Brush Collection
The City provides curbside pickup of limbs. Limbs should be no longer than four (4) feet and no bigger than four (4) inches in diameter. Limbs will normally be chipped curbside and hauled away. Heavy brush will be picked up as time permits, at least monthly. City personnel will pickup trees cut by property owners if they are cut to manageable dimensions and placed by the curb or street. The tradesmen or property owner shall remove all trees cut by a hired tradesman.

Mosquito Control
The City has a program that includes spraying to control mosquitoes on a weekly basis during the active mosquito season.

Street Maintenance
Traffic-related services are supported, including right-of-way and roadside maintenance, pot holes, street repairs, and traffic signs and marking installation and maintenance. If you need any of these services please call 662-895-4335 during normal business hours.
