Ollie's Heartland

I knew Ollie Mae as 'grandma' - an amazing woman who barely left the small community of Siler City/Silk Hope in all of her 99 years. She was born in 1909, and spanned not only an entire century of 'progress', but also brought nine children, over 30 grandchildren, as well as great- and great-great-grandchildren into the world, before her passing in 2009.
She was also one of nine children, as was her husband, Aubrey (lots of kids were common in those days, I suppose they were cheaper and lower maintenance than tractors or horses!).
Guess who her 9th grandchild was...?

Needless to say, this woman inspired more than numerology--her kind heart, happy nature and devotion to her garden and family lends her name to this wonderful farm, where we hope to honor her legacy.
