More about Omega Karate-Do Abingdon VA

It is our goal at Omega Karate to instill more than just a physical skill. At the Chikubu-Kai Abingdon Dojo, we provide an environment of training for the mind (no ego, no foul language, no nonsense), for the body (physical training strengthens your best natural defense mechanism) and for technique (a movement without purpose is no movement at all).

“I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End….” (Rev 22:13) The concept for the term “Omega” is to show, not just something has concluded, but HOW it is concluded. The Bible records these words as Jesus speaking and identifying his eternal existence and that He transcends all of time and eternity. In the practical application of life, it isn’t how you start, but how finish (end).

The same applies to martial arts. The Japanese term “ZANSHIN” is defined as “perfect finish”. Whether you are a student, business person, teacher, public servant, stay-at-home mom, community leader, project manager, or any one of dozens of other callings, it is imperative that you complete daily or weekly tasks to the best of your ability.

But what about a violent encounter? Is there a difference? NO!! Just as in life, an encounter with someone who wants to harm you is not the time to finish in 2nd place. You don’t start the fight…. But when it does arrive, you finish 1st, you are the one to go home to your family, you cause the violator to regret ever messing with you!!!

How is this accomplished? By continual training of the Mind, the Body and Technique. It is a lifestyle!! No matter what you’ve done in life or where you’ve been; no matter your story or history, every person can develop a warrior mindset to finish their life journey with physical, mental and spiritual success.

A student once said to his master:
You teach me fighting but you talk about peace. How do you reconcile the two?” The master replied: “It is better to be a warrior in a garden than to be a gardener in a war.

Live your life in such a way that even Honorable men would envy you.

Protecting yourself is self-defense. Protecting others is warriorship.

A man once told me… The most important thing every man should know is what he would die for.
