*The Anti-Stigma Project was formed in 1993 by the Maryland Mental Hygiene Administration in collaboration with On Our Own of Maryland to reduce stigma within the behavioral health system. The mission of The Anti-Stigma project is to fight stigma by raising consciousness, facilitating ongoing dialogues, searching for creative solutions, and educating all participants within or connected to the behavioral health community, including consumers, family members, providers, educators, and administrators. http://www.onourownmd.org/projects/the-anti-stigma-project

*The Empowerment Partnership Project (formerly known as The Recovery Training Project) aims to promote recovery within the mental health system, by training both consumers and providers. We help transform Maryland’s mental health system by:
• providing a collaborative recovery effort between providers and consumers;
• promoting empowerment, knowledge, and self-determination for mental health consumers;
• serving as a bridge in the gap between resources, skills and knowledge for both consumers and providers to enhance and direct recovery. http://www.onourownmd.org/projects/empowerment-partnership-project

*The Transitional Age Youth Outreach (TAY) Project seeks to create a space within On Our Own of Maryland’s peer network of Wellness & Recovery Centers for the activities and conversations of young adults between the ages of 18 and 30. Our mission is to empower youth with mental health struggles to share their experiences and speak out about the kind of help and services they’d like to see within the mental health system where they receive care. This project hopes to foster a sense that the life experiences of young adults are full of unique insight and that they are able to reach out and touch the lives of other young adults through peer support and to advocate for a mental health system which adequately addresses their needs and honors their voices. http://www.onourownmd.org/projects/maryland-youth-outreach-project

*Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP®):
As part of the transformation of Maryland’s Public Mental Health System, OOOMD has implemented the WRAP® Outreach Project within our wellness and recovery centers and network affiliates.
What is WRAP®?
WRAP® is a self-management and recovery system developed by a group of people who had mental health difficulties and were struggling to incorporate wellness tools and strategies into their lives.
How do we create a WRAP®?
Many of the OOOMD affiliates offer WRAP® classes and ongoing peer support groups. WRAP® is facilitated by our PEERS, people who have been through many experiences similar to our own and live in our communities. They have lived and worked WRAP® in their own lives and have seen the benefits. They have also been trained to facilitate WRAP® classes.
WRAP® classes are offered at no charge within the OOOMD Network, through our affiliates. There are also numerous WRAP® training opportunities provided by the OOOMD WRAP® Outreach Project. Please contact the OOOMD’s WRAP® Outreach Coordinator for rates and details. In addition, please feel free to contact us at 410/646-0262 or 1-800-704-0262 for the WELLNESS AND RECOVERY CENTER nearest you.
