Oneida Baptist Institute

Oneida Baptist Institute is a Christian school for boarding students in grades 6-12 and day students in grades K-12. We accept students throughout the year. Normally, if a young person is physically and emotionally able to be away from home and wants to be at Oneida, he or she is accepted.

At OBI, we want our students to develop to their full potential in every area: academically, socially, physically and spiritually.

The Oneida curriculum is designed to meet the academic needs of students of all abilities. Our program includes one-on-one tutoring in core subjects as well as advanced placement classes. All students benefit from OBI's smaller class sizes and personal attention from teachers.

At Oneida, young people are expected to participate in a daily activity outside of their classroom hours. Students may choose from a variety of sports and cocurriculars to fulfill this requirement or work at on-campus jobs like the farm, cleaning crews, the campus grill or lawn mowing crew.

We maintain a "no cut" policy in our athletic program. As long as the player exhibits a willingness to participate and follow instruction, he or she may join our sports teams.

Students come to Oneida from many denominational backgrounds or from no religious background at all. We accept every student with the belief that each has been created by God and that Jesus offered His life as a sacrifice for the redemption of all. All students are required to attend daily chapel and Sunday services. It is not our intention to coerce or intimidate any student to become a Christian. We simply share the message of Jesus Christ in words and daily living. We believe that a seed planted today will bear fruit in months or years to come.

Oneida also provides an environment that is conducive to spiritual growth in young believers. Our Campus Ministry program provides opportunities for young people to join with other Christian teenagers in Bible study, worship, prayer and fellowship. Our students are also surrounded by Christian teachers, houseparents and coaches willing to answer a question or simply to set a positive example in word and deed.
