I picked up my first piece of granite in February of 1982 in Houston Texas while working for Continental Marble and Granite. For the next four years, I went from helper to apprentice to journeyman stone setter and worked on over 300 stories in the Houston area, including managing the stock on the 65-story Transco tower.
I returned to Connecticut in the summer of 1986, briefly worked as a tile contractor from an old station wagon. And then took a job on the People’s Bank Building in downtown Bridgeport. (I’m not sure which big bank owns that now)
Then I took a job with a local fabricator, one of only four fabricators in the state at the time. In 2005, I started Ontra Stone Concepts, LL. in Monroe, CT and in 2012 moved to our current location in Bridgeport, CT. I use modern technology but practice and old school philosophy – focus on detail and customer service. Period.

We keep our crew at around ten to keep the focus on quality and I oversee every one of my jobs to ensure that the quality and craftsmanship are nothing short of excellent, and that my customers are thrilled with their new granite kitchen counter, bathroom, marble fireplace or special project
