The Operation Christmas Train Set Foundation

Operation Christmas Train set was born October 15th 2014 out of a combination desire to help less fortunate children and their families in our community at All Year Round and a passion for model trains. We have brought the two together to reach out into our community. It started by putting together two train sets for two single mom’s and their children in our church who were struggling financially at Christmas time this year. Now due to the generous donations of others we have almost twenty plus sets to give away to needy families through partnering with various organizations in our community. Some of the organizations involved include: Manna Pantry Yukon, Oklahoma, Yukon Sharing Yukon, Oklahoma, Angel Tree Prison Ministries Dr. Larry Mills SNU Bethany Oklahoma, Anna’s House Foster Care Facility Luther Oklahoma, Reaching Our City Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Melissa Gabriel’s Christmas Dinner through Christmas Blessing through Gregory’s Heart of Hope Free Christmas Dinner for needy families, and Marine Corps Toys For Tots program OKC, as well as Toby Keith Foundation’s Ok Kid’s Korral, Center For Family Love Okarche Ok. Some of our sponsors include: Local OKC Starbuck’s Location, Walthers Trainline, Hobby Depot, Makin Tracks, and Multiple Model Rail Road clubs and Individuals across the United States as well as local businesses in our community. We are branching out by conducting various toy and clothing drives across the OKC metro to benefit these organizations listed and the families they represent.
In Addition we gave away 75 train sets to needy families as of Christmas 2014. In 2015 we plan to give away 100 plus sets to needy families Christmas 2015. We have also expanded into the area of building complete working layouts this year for such organizations as Toby Keith Foundations Ok Kids Korral (completed), Center for Family Love , and Anna’s House Foster Care Facility in Luther Oklahoma.
In addition we have been featured on Model Rail Radio with Tom Barbalet, Model Railroading and Structures Show with Ron Pare, and a feature article in the marker lamp (lone star region) with Riley Tiggs

In addition we are a registered and recognized organization by the Oklahoma State Secretary’ Office, we just received our Federal Employer Identification Number and our application currently being processed for OK State Tax Exemption Status, then we will move forward in the application process to file for our 501c3 tax status...
