Residents of nursing and retirment facilities display better mental and even physical health when they are in some connected to larger society, outside of their limited space. One step toward that goal is to provide opportunites for them to enjoy experiences outside of their facility in small groups. That is the purpose of Operation OUTING, the all-volunteer organization that takes residents on outings to various destinations such as shopping, tourist attractions, and even sporting events in a lift-equipped bus. The residents greatly enjoy those trips and always return with renewed vigor and anticipation for the next outing.
