Narrow Gate ministry had a very humble and tentative beginning on a very cold Thursday evening of February, 2009. The first Narrow Gate service of a meal, music and a message for "the least, the last and the lost" in the Kannapolis / Concord area was held in the Kid's Hut at Opportunity House. There were a handful of enthusiastic and inspired folks who prepared the meal and the service and 3 folks who came for the meal and worship. It was an inspirational service in which the Spirit moved one to a profession of faith in Jesus Christ...the first of many to come through Narrow Gate Ministry. From that humble beginning, Narrow Gate has grown into a thriving fellowship of more than 200 worshipers and their children (who are cared for at the Opportunity House). We meet each Thursday evening at 6:30 PM at Midway UMC's fellowship hall(708 South Main Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081) and Forrest Hill UMC's Multipurpose Building (265 Union Street North, Concord, NC 28025) for a meal, music (often provided by the worshipers) and a message at THEIR church, as many of them describe it. This is the third facility to house Narrow Gate. We outgrew the Kid's Hut and the Opportunity House as the ministry grew from people sized to God sized when God worked His way in this ministry. The handful of folks has grown into dozens of dedicated volunteers from Midway and a number of local Methodist churches and churches of other denominations who work together each Thursday to feed, both physically and spiritually, those in need. That work continues through the week as the two touch philosophy continues to help those in need throughout the week.
