Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons are dental specialists who treat conditions of the teeth, mouth, jaws, and face. Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires up to 6 additional years of hospital-based surgical, medical, and anesthesia training after the completion of undergraduate work and dental school. With specialized knowledge in pain control and advanced training in anesthesia, the Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon is able to provide quality care with maximum patient comfort and safety in an office setting.
