What started out as a few neighbors meeting around a kitchen table back in 2009 to see how they could make locally grown food more accessible to their community, has turned into a grassroots effort encompassing hundreds! Through the establishment of a weekly Saturday farmers market, the partnership with OPLF to run the first seed lending library in the City of Orange, and now the groundbreaking efforts to bring people together through the growth of the first education farm in the City of Orange, Orange Home Grown is constantly seeking ways to cultivate community by embracing the locally grown food revolution! Reconnecting people with where their food comes from, engaging residents in volunteer opportunities, and celebrating the positive attributes of Orange, and its surrounding cities, Orange Home Grown makes an effort to collaborate with like-minded organizations to celebrate southern California’s agriculture roots and to provide educational opportunities promoting physical, mental, and social well-being.
