The Department of Recreational Sports is host to the Oregon State Adventure Club. The Oregon State University Adventure Club is a student-led program within the Department of Recreational Sports and Adventure Leadership Institute (ALI). The Adventure Club organizes and conducts recreational and educational outdoor pursuits for the campus community. The Adventure Club contributes to the educational mission of the university by offering learning opportunities for students pursuing leadership and facilitation certifications through the Adventure Leadership Institute.

The OSU Adventure Club is founded on the principles of experiential learning, using human powered outdoor pursuits to expand knowledge, leadership, service and community.

Located at the east entry to Dixon Recreation Center, the Outdoor Recreation Center (ORC) includes outdoor equipment rental; maps; river and snow reports; and the bike, ski, and snowboard shop.

Do I need experience and equipment?
No, Adventure Club trips are aimed at beginner outdoorsmen/women looking to gain experience in outdoor endeavors. The Adventure club will provide any technical gear required for the trip but members will be responsible for personal items such as clothing, etc.

How many trips does the club plan?
On average, six per term.

Do you have to be a member to go on Adventure Club trips?
No, non-members can pay a one time trial fee of $10.00 in addition to the trip cost and enjoy the outing.

How often does the Adventure Club meet?
Adventure Club meetings are the first Wednesday of every month that school is in session. They are at 7pm in the Dixon Lower Classroom. Call the Outdoor Recreation Center desk of updates: (541) 737 - 3630.
