Osceola Fundamental High School is a fundamental high school in Seminole, Florida operated by Pinellas County Schools. Osceola has recently become one of the top rated high schools in Pinellas County for performing arts. The school auditorium was originally built to house the Pinellas County Center for the Arts which ultimately would be housed at Gibbs High School, and as such is one of the largest and better equipped auditoriums of Pinellas County High Schools, featuring such accommodations as sound-dampening paneling and a computer-controlled lighting array.HistoryThe school is named for Osceola, war chief of the Seminole Indians in Florida. Osceola led a small band of warriors (never more than 100) in the Seminole resistance during the Second Seminole War when the United States tried to remove the Seminoles from their lands.
