The Oswego Fire Department is a career fire department that provides both fire protection and emergency medical services to the fine citizens, businesses, and visitors in the City of Oswego. The Oswego Fire Department responds to several thousand calls for help each year, and is fully equipped and trained in several specialty areas such as Hazardous Materials, Swift Water Rescue, Underwater Rescue Operations, Technical Rescue Operations, and Ice Rescue.
The Oswego Fire Department responds from two strategically placed fire stations, one located on West First Street, and the other located on East Cayuga Street.
The Oswego Fire Department also provides ALS (advanced life support) transporting ambulance service within the City of Oswego.
The Oswego Fire Department also provides EMS education to dozens of students each year. Our certified EMS instructors teach classes in EMT-Basic, EMT-Critical Care, EMT-Paramedic, CPR, and First Aid.
