It all started with a log and a chainsaw. What some might have viewed as a rotting log I saw potential ! I began by hollowing out the log with only a chainsaw and a hatchet. I used a wire brush wheel to remove the loose bark, stained the log and with numerous coats of poly turned that old felled tree into a beautiful planter for my wife. Everyone who came over loved it and wanted me to make them one. Thats where the thought began that maybe I can do what I love and make a buisness out of it. I am a carpenter by trade and in my spare time I would make a piece or two and display them in our home. Again everyone who viewed my work commented on how they would like one too. The construction buisness started declining and with all the spare time I was having I began making more. My wife suggested I take a stab at selling them online and had heard about Etsy. I made three pieces up to begin the store and she created the shop online. I had a great idea that people could send me thier little trinkets, locks of hair , a baby bootie, etc. and I could create a custom made piece of furniture, shelf, plaque or whatever they requested out of wood and encase their treasures and memories inside the resin finish. Everyone has a shadowbox, or stored memories away in shoebox or chest somewhere why not display them in a piece that is functional, beautiful and you can pass down to your children? I can do that! I have also refinished and revivied old wood furniture or pieces with the resin finish it creates a high gloss glass like finish that is eye catching and beautiful! Not to mention it protects the wood and if finished is scratched you can buff it out.
