The roots of Catholicism in Granger stretch out in many directions. Long before Granger was established as a town in 1906, Mass was celebrated in the Liberty Catholic Church which was directly across the road. In November of 1966, it was decided to make Granger an independent parish. Father John O'Shea was transferred from Sunnyside to Granger as resident priest. The first Mass was celebrated in the new church on August, 7, 1966. A beautiful modern edifice, which seats four hundred and fifty people. There have been many
priest who have been ministering Our Lady of Guadalupe Church...starting with Father Paul N.Flad (November 4, 1963 - September 20, 1964) to the first Mexican priest Father J. Jesus Ramirez C. (July 26, 1992 -2000) Father Mario P. Salazar (2001-2012)
