OVM - Ohio Valley Manor

Ohio Valley Manor, Inc., a privately held corporation, was conceived in the late 1960's by a small group of local entrepreneurs concerned about the lack of availability of high quality long-term care in Brown County and the surrounding areas. Over the next two years, plans were developed, reviewed and revised, the certificate of need received, construction initiated and application for licensure and certification made. On April 9, 1971, the area's first 50-bed nursing facility ̶ called Ohio Valley Manor Convalescent Center ̶ officially opened.

Since its inception, OVM's ownership has continued to be local and responsive to meeting community needs with continued commitment and dedication to the financial and personal investments necessary for growth. Through the years, modifications in OVM's physical environment have altered the organization's original exterior and interior, but the corporation's level of commitment and dedication have endured, as has the philosophy from which it grew "that every individual, regardless of the degree of impairment, has the right to an environment which will assist him or her in the preservation of physical and mental functioning, dignity, and quality of life."

In the past 40 years, OVM has expanded its services to provide multiple options for healthcare. From Long-Term Care to Respite Care, Assisted Living, Short-Term Rehabilitation, Post-Acute Care, Memory Care, Outpatient Therapy and Home Health, OVM maintains its outstanding reputation for excellence in services, focusing on person-centered care that is responsive to each individual's needs.

OVM is continuing to grow to better meet the changing healthcare needs and expectations of today's healthcare services consumer. A new facility expansion of the Birch Place Assisted Living Community was completed in 2012. In late 2013, additional long-term care beds were licensed by the Ohio Department of Health enabling OVM to offer long-term care apartments --- an option previously unavailable in the area. In 2016, a state-of-the-art, fully-equipped indoor aquatic therapy pool was installed, expanding the rehabilitative services offered by OVM.

Today, OVM is one of the largest employers in the area, providing career opportunities and fulfillment for nearly 250 healthcare professionals and para-professionals. OVM continues to grow and evolve with an eye towards expanding healthcare services that provide "Better Tomorrows" for the Brown, Adams, Highland, Clermont County communities.
