The Name:
Yes, I know owls don’t live in lairs! However, when I moved into the mountains of Vermont, every night I was greeted by the sounds of the barred owl. They were loud and they were present in numbers. It took a bit of getting used to but it wasn’t long before I became accustomed to their sound and if I didn’t hear them at night, it was hard to fall asleep! I was told that once an owl depleted the local food supply, they would move on. The area where I live must be well stocked. Since they don’t seem to want to leave, I decided to refer to this habitat as their ‘lair’. (I am very grateful they have decided not to leave – I need my sleep!)
Evolution:
My father was a Doctor and when he retired, he spent his winters in Arizona where he learned silver jewelry making. After my father passed away, I took what I learned from him, and began making silver jewelry. It is a passion now, combining creativity with gifts from nature to produce something that we are proud of. Knowing someone else appreciates our creations, makes it all worthwhile.
