Oxon Hill High School M D - 11 A F J R O T C

Oxon Hill High School Air Force Junior ROTC was the eleventh unit of the first twenty Air Force units established in September 1966. This unit has consistently been recognized as an outstanding unit for the past 15 years. Cadets have received in excess of a million dollars in scholarships for the same period. Cadets have attended all three service academies as well as many prestigious schools such as Princeton an Carnegie Mellon and other colleges. Oxon Hill also has an Aviation program consisting of forty five senior cadets studying for a private pilot license. At the present time Oxon Hill JROTC is the largest program worldwide with 750 plus cadets and six instructors. These cadets perform for many different events during the school year such as school assemblies, retirements and promotions. The drill teams have participated in the High School Drill competition since the competition began 29 years ago and consistently placed in the top five of all competing schools. Cadets have distinguished themselves academically as well as service to their community.
