WORD FROM THE OWNER:
My name is Linda Alexander and I'm a personal trainer in Richmond Va.
I have been in the health and fitness industry for over 30 years. I have trained thousands of clients, men, women and children. I started out wanting to train athletes, because, being a former athlete I knew how important it was to be in my best physical shape to be competitive. What I realized is that everyone is an athlete in their own special way. When clients train with me, I know they are trying to become their best self. That is my passion, to coach them to become just that. THEIR BEST SELF! I encourage them to make fitness and healthy eating a lifestyle. Not something they HAVE to do, but something they WANT to do...for them, for their families.
Our motto at Oxygen and Iron is "it's not just a workout, it's a lifestyle"

Growing up I have never struggled with my weight, so I'm not one of those trainers who have gone through an extreme transformation and that's the reason they became a trainer. I became a trainer because I'm fascinated on how the body works, and what we do to our bodies to make them better and sometimes what makes them worse. Being a trainer allows me to figure out how to change the body to get the desired results someone is looking for. It is also about being a great listener. All my clients train for a "reason", a "why". If I can find out what that true reason is, then I can coach them to get closer to their best self!

I have trained for many decades, I have seen many fitness and nutritional fads come and go. Some good...most bad. My training philosophy has stayed pretty much the same. Train hard, train smart. I pride myself on keeping up with the newest fitness and nutrition advancements and staying on top of current research, to help my clients get the results they are looking for. Giving my clients a good workout is the easy part, educating them along the way is the most important.

Being over 50, I realize how important staying healthy means. I am in the best shape of my life. I feel stronger, have more energy and I'm happier than I was in my 20's.
I train because I love it. I train because I need it, both mentally and physically. I train because I want to be a mentor for my 3 daughters. I train because it's part of my life.

Being a trainer is the best job in the world.
I love my training family, they give back to me as much as I give to them. We are equal partners in helping each other become OUR BEST SELVES.

It's NOT just a workout, it's a LIFESTYLE!

Linda Alexander
