PA State Association of Township Supervisors

More than 5.5 million Pennsylvanians have chosen to settle in townships of the second class. These communities are led by an elected board of either three or five township supervisors -- people who essentially volunteer their time and talents to make these areas better places to live, work, and play.

PSATS was created by the Pennsylvania General Assembly more than 90 years ago. Today, it provides township supervisors from across the state with a wealth of training opportunities, representation before state and federal government, and a one-stop resource for local government information.

PSATS maintains that local government allows residents to have a strong and active voice in the governance of their community. As Thomas Jefferson said, "The government closest to the people serves the people best."
