Lawrence Augustus Washington was hired by the city of Paducah in 1904 as the city's engineer. His daughter, Leslie Ann Washington, (also L. A. Washington) was born a Washington and married a Washington. The home was built in 1895. The homeowners were the descendants of George Washington's beloved half brother from his father's 1st marriage. George did not have any biological children.
