Palm Springs is a train station in Palm Springs, California, United States, served by Amtrak, the national railroad passenger system. The Sunset Limited and the Texas Eagle, combined, provide a thrice-weekly service in each direction.This is not a full-service station. It is only a platform and open-air shelter with a roof built in 1999. There are no services offered. It is approximately 7mi from downtown Palm Springs, and there are no connecting transportation services between the station and downtown except for taxi cabs.RidershipRidership at the Palm Springs station has steadily declined in recent years, in large part due to the normally inconvenient service times to and from Los Angeles. In FY2010, the station served 6,061 passengers. This declined to 5,897 passengers in FY2011 (-2.71%), and then to 4,945 passengers in FY2012 (-16.14%).
