P.A.L.S. was founded in December of 2012 by Alyssa Cosby; the view of the club when it was founded the purpose was to help the community of Woodville High School and the school itself. The sponsor, Mrs. Amanda Peek, came up with the idea to send home weekend food bags for the children in the school that needed help. The program was a major hit helping around forty children in its first year. After P.A.L.S. first year the number of students it helped increased to around 65 and in addition to sending home food bags it started providing snacks during the weekend, tutoring for all students in all grades and subjects, and sending home Christmas gifts and stockings for every child that received a food bag. Now P.A.L.S. has expanded to serving students in not only Woodville High School but also Skyline High School and is trying to expand to Bridgeport Elementary and Middle, Stevenson Elementary and Middle, Macedonia, and Fort Payne High School. If you would like to help the program it is currently estimated that it costs fifteen dollars to sponsor a child for one month or you can send food to Woodville High School to be delivered to Mrs. Peek. Thank-you for all and any help! God-bless you!
