Paris Free Press is a nonpartisan, media watchdog with an enduring commitment to reporting in the public's interest.
Based in Paris, Texas and launched in Fall 2016, we believe that an independent media that is free of the whims of establishment politics or industry is a vital component to democracy. It is also essential in those important conversations that have been consistently left out of the public conversation that is local news-reporting.
Our focuses are poverty, mental illness, governmental transparency, and the responsible use of public monies.
Our mission is to create a platform of empowerment for disenfranchised and working peoples who are commonly left out of narratives in news media. Further, we seek to root out corruption and shine a light on the mismanagement of public entities.
