Parmele is a census-designated place in Martin County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 278 at the 2010 census. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.69% of the population.There were 114 households out of which 26.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 33.3% were married couples living together, 25.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.1% were non-families. 34.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 21.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
