The Learning Garden is a 3.64 acre plot of land on the PCC Rock Creek Campus that includes 51 raised beds, 2 acres row crops, a cob tool shed with solar powered irrigation, earthen oven with green roof, a mixed fruit orchard, blueberry bushes, and plots for an organic gardening class.
In 32 raised beds, we grow food for our weekly farm stand and for donation to the community. In 2015, we harvested over 11,000 lbs of food. We also have 16 community raised beds available for students, faculty, and staff to grow their own food.
The Learning Garden is a community resource that provides educational opportunities through community-based learning classes, tours highlighting features of our closed-loop system and garden, and open volunteer hours.
