pencilsketchpaper randomly happened. My husband & I bought a house on the cusp of the Elmwood Village, in the Museum District a few years back. We had an entryway that I wanted to wallpaper in a 1920's gaudy pattern, so that people would walk in...hate it...then immediately love it. Make sense? After countless hours on the Internet & searching wallpaper shops I couldn't find what I was looking for. Every wallpaper was too bright, too gold, too loud, not loud enough, too art deco, etc... So, I let it go for a while.
Fast forward a couple of months...
I began by taking pictures of the places near my house & sent my mother the images. Cole's (where my husband and I met), the Richardson Olmsted Complex, the Art Museum, etc... I asked her to sketch them out.
On plain white paper.
Nothing fancy.
Just pencil sketches.
I was not completely sure what would evolve and if my vision sketched on white copy paper could be made into a wallpaper. After calling a few friends (I love Buffalo!) to see if they could put their "feelers out" for me, I got a connection! I walked into the printer, white paper in hand, & they turned my vision into wallpaper for my foyer! Walking into my house now I see all of the beautiful places that surround us in our community, it has the exact impression I first imagined.
A few more phone calls, brainstorming sessions, help from my mother & friends, I share this print with you. "Museum District" is the first in the collection & we can't wait to share the rest with you!
