Organization was established in 2002 as a non-profit, tax exempt organization. It's purpose is to coordinate, encourage, and assist educational functions and activities, and to promote scholarship in county by providing financial and other support.
Since its inception of the Education Foundation in 2002, board members have been working diligently to grow the foundation in an effort to grow the Foundation in an effort to promote and support academic achievement and scholarly research by students and school employees through scholarship and grant awards.
Each year the Foundation offers numerous scholarships to seniors in the graduating class at the Perquimans County High School. In addition to student scholarships, the Foundation offers classroom grants for special projects, host guest speakers, special art or cultural programs and provides additional support for academics and art programs.
During the past 6 years, the Foundation provided more than $60,000 to teachers in Perquimans County Schools to support education projects and special programs.
