(Notice posted on District’s Facebook Page)

This Perry County School District 32 Facebook Fan Page was created to help us build and share our Perryville Pirate Pride! All posts and comments should be made with that thought in mind. This site is dedicated to the more than 2,300 children entrusted to our care.

The District 32 Facebook Fan Page is provided for the district community by the Perry County School District 32’s Department of Public Relations. We will update this page as often as possible to share as much as we can about our great schools and the achievements of the students and staff as well as other relevant district community information. Contact the Department of Public Relations by calling 573-547-7500, ext. 559 or e-mailing PR@perryville.k12.mo.us.

All posting of comments on this page are at the discretion of the page administrators. The intent of this policy is not to keep any negative or critical information from being posted, but to protect the privacy and rights of all District 32 staff and students. Naming specific employees or students in a negative, rude or cruel way will not be allowed. District 32 is a Bullying No Tolerance Zone, and that applies to our online community as well. The page administrators will review all postings to make sure they do not run afoul of the rules nor of the district’s Acceptable Use Guidelines regarding Internet access and practices as approved by the Board of Education. All questions and comments about specific students, staff or policies should be directed to the appropriate District staff member. You can find a listing of all staff phone numbers and e-mail at http://www.perryville.k12.mo.us/domain/33.

We welcome your thoughts and comments and look forward to what you have to say. However, we will not leave postings that:
• Are made by someone under age 13. District staff will report violations of this Facebook policy when discovered. Younger students can view the district fan page through their parents’ or guardians’ accounts and with their supervision.
• Place any student or staff member in harm’s way. We ask all users to refrain from posting “place and time” information about our students and staff. For instance, do not post a photo of a student on a field trip to the zoo while the child is still at the zoo. Protecting children comes first.
• Break the law or encourage others to do so. This includes respecting copyright and fair use laws. If you are talking about somebody else’s work, reference the original and where possible include a link.
• Contain abusive or inappropriate language or statements. This includes remarks that are racist, homophobic, sexist, obscene or sexually explicit.
• Easily identify students and/or staff in defamatory, abusive or generally negative terms.
• Do not show proper consideration for others’ privacy or are considered likely to offend or provoke others – i.e. don’t pick fights or goad others into inflammatory debates. District 32 is a Bullying No Tolerance Zone, and that applies to our online community as well. Nobody likes a bully.
• Are advertising for companies or spam – i.e. posting the same comment or comments that are simply advertising/promoting a service or product. If you wouldn’t want it posted on your Facebook wall, don’t post it on the District wall.
• Rumors. If you don’t know it’s a fact, don’t post it. An example would be the post: “I heard school will be dismissed at 11 am.” As soon as the decision is made to dismiss school, the District sends that information out via School Messenger text service, posts to the District Website and Facebook.
• Are political or religious in nature. There are plenty of other places to share those views and have those debates. A site dedicated to the education of children isn’t one of them.
The page administrators reserve the right to not post or remove any comments at any time, for any reason…but we hope that won’t ever be necessary. If you have a comment or would like to report an inappropriate comment for us to review, send an email to PR@perryville.k12.mo.us.

Thank you for stopping by and/or being a fan of Perry County School District 32. We love your Perryville Pirate Pride!
