Peter Jay Sharp Boathouse

The Peter Jay Sharp Boathouse, designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects, opened to the community in 2004 and remains the only floating boathouse in Manhattan. Managed by Row New York, a unique nonprofit providing competitive rowing and academic support to underserved teens, the boathouse is used by youth and adult rowers who train on the Harlem River.

The boathouse is also available for private events, and makes the perfect venue for an intimate wedding or party. This completely unique structure provides what feels like an escape from the city without having to leave Manhattan.

The Peter Jay Sharp Boathouse is also home to Row New York’s team-building events, in which colleagues learn to row — and race — in the spirit of friendly competition. A happy hour, customized t-shirts, medals, and other add-ons are available to help make your day with us a memorable one.
