Phi Kappa Sigma International Fraternity was founded by Samuel Brown Wylie Mitchell at the University of Pennsylvania on August 16, 1850. Along with Samuel Brown Wylie Mitchell, there were six other founding fathers. Reflecting the number of founding fathers, the seven Core Values of Phi Kappa Sigma were produced. Phi Kappa Sigma currently has over 60 active chapters, colonies, and interest groups in both the United States and Canada, with 40,000 living alumni.
